Our commitment to the financial security of the International Kolping Society
for the future
The International Kolping Society looks back at a history of 150 years. This long period of institutional history shows that the Kolping Society has always tried to dedicate its work to the needs of people time and again. The offers it has made have fallen on fertile ground.
It is important and right for the Kolping Society to look at the problems of the time and align its work with the needs of people, but it is also important to base its work on a solid economical foundation. The International Adolph Kolping Foundation wants to contribute to this consolidation.
The International Adolph Kolping Foundation was founded at the General Assembly of the In-ternational Kolping Society in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1992. Since then it has accumulated assets in the amount of about 2.6 million Euro. With this money we are able to support all types of projects.
Projects pointing towards the future
Projects which are financed by the International Adolph Kolping Foundation are all aimed at supporting the development of the International Kolping Society. The International Kolping Society is exhibiting rapid growth all over the world. Intensive training and formation is therefore necessary for those who have recently joined, to be formed in the ethos and spiritual basis of our Kolping Society as well as the person of Adolph Kolping.
In order to facilitate this we must supply our staff with materials in the appropriate languages about the person of Adolph Kolping, his life, his work and ideas. For this purpose we utilized some of the Foundation funds to produce translations and print books. We also sponsored social and pastoral projects of course, like the construction of a chapel in the Kolping House in Cape Town, South Africa, or the co-sponsoring of an agricultural college in Mexico.
Donations in the form of co-foundations multiply the possibilities to help
A special way to make sponsorships to the International Adolph Kolping Foundation is the donation in the form of a co-foundation. Upon making a donation of 25,000.- Euro or higher, the sponsor’s name will remain linked to the donation made.
The International Adolph Kolping Foundation continues its work with enthusiasm. It is very gratifying to see that in so many parts of the world people feel inspired by Adolph Kolping’s ideas, they found Kolping Families and thus make the association grow. The Foundation wants to accompany and support this positive development in the future as well. It would be a blessing for the International Kolping Society if we managed to expand the financial base of our initiatives.
