KOLPING INTERNATIONAL looks back on a successful project year in the 2023 Annual Report.
Based in Cologne, our specialist organization for development cooperation, KOLPING INTERNATIONAL Cooperation e.V., supported 148 projects in 39 countries – including vocational training, agricultural projects, small business development and the construction of wells and cisterns. These measures have made it possible for thousands of people to improve their living conditions through their own efforts.
KOLPING INTERNATIONAL Cooperation e.V. had a total of 9.82 million euros at its disposal to combat poverty in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe. Donation income remained at a high level of 4.11 million euros. “As expected, the record results of previous years, which were due to an extremely high willingness to donate for the Ukraine emergency aid and previously for the coronavirus emergency aid, could no longer be achieved in 2023,” reports Msgr. Christoph Huber, General Praeses of KOLPING INTERNATIONAL. ”However, we were able to stabilize our donation income at a good pre-crisis level, even with slightly higher figures than in the years before the crises.” The number of donors, many of whom now come from outside the Association, has also increased by seven percent since 2019. “These are good developments for which we are very grateful and which show how great the trust in our global work is,” says Msgr. Christoph Huber.
KOLPING INTERNATIONAL will present the Annual Report digitally on Thursday, September 12, 2024.All interested parties are cordially invited to attend.
This will allow supporters of the Association’s development projects to learn first-hand about the work of the past year and ask questions. Koku Amédomé (Laurent) Tay, the Managing Director of KOLPING Togo, will join us from the worldwide Association and report on the development projects in Togo, in particular on the promotion of women there. General Praeses Msgr. Christoph Huber and General Secretary Dr. Markus Demele will present the most important milestones of 2023 and give an outlook for the near future.
