Kolping Ukraine has achieved great things in the third year of the war. This is shown by a recently published report for 2024.
Thanks to donations amounting to 311,498 euros and loyal support, particularly from neighbouring associations in Romania and Poland, a further 100 tonnes of relief supplies, including food, clothing and generators, were distributed to over 8,000 war victims last year. The deliveries were increasingly sent to regions affected by fighting, such as Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk and Kharkiv. The Kolping soup kitchen in Chernivtsi provided around 198,000 hot meals to refugees and wounded soldiers.
At the same time, the association’s social projects, which are primarily aimed at people with disabilities and autism, continued. These care centres provided ongoing support to 644 people, with a further 2,221 receiving one-off assistance. Two new support centres for 150 children with disabilities opened their doors in Dnipro and Zhytomyr. Since 2023, KOLPING Ukraine has also been training trauma specialists. The first course with 30 participants was successfully completed in 2024.
A big thank you to all donors who made this help possible and to all helpers who lent a hand!
