International Board of Directors elects new bodies

Last Saturday, KOLPING INTERNATIONAL held its International Board of Directors’ meeting. 41 delegates from 33 countries met online to discuss key issues of the Catholic social association and to elect new members for the international bodies.

Erich Reischmann (KOLPING Switzerland), Dancille Mujawamariya (KOLPING Rwanda) and Maria Soosai Philiphose (KOLPING India) were confirmed in their office on the International Executive Board, the governing body of KOLPING INTERNATIONAL, for another four years. They represent the associations from Europe, Africa and Asia. Antonio Maria Silva Noble (KOLPING Uruguay) was elected to the International Executive Board for Latin America. Stephan Stickeler is the new representative for KOLPING Germany, the largest national association worldwide.

The current International Executive Board of KOLPING INTERNATIONAL is thus composed as follows:

Ex officio:

  • Msgr. Christoph Huber, General Praeses
  • Dr. Markus Demele, General Secretary
  • Karin Wollgarten, Managing Director

Elected:

  • Stephan Stickeler (KOLPING Germany) for Germany
  • Erich Reischmann (KOLPING Switzerland) for Europe
  • Dancille Mujawamariya (KOLPING Rwanda) for Africa
  • Father Dr. Maria Soosai Philiphose (KOLPING India) for Asia
  • Antonio Maria Silva Noble (KOLPING Uruguay) for Latin America

In the International Finance Committee, Daniel Fissenewert (KOLPING Germany) replaces Thorsten Schulz (also KOLPING Germany), who has resigned at his own request. Dr Martin Bröckelmann-Simon was confirmed in his office as ombudsperson.

The International Board of Directors had to meet digitally at short notice because not enough delegates had obtained the necessary visas to attend the meeting in India. The next International Board of Directors meeting will take place in Romania in 2027.
