Kolping works – soon in Zimbabwe as well?

Kolping works and inspires – worldwide! There is also great interest in Kolping in Zimbabwe, and the Bishop of Harare supports the founding of Kolping in his diocese.

Zimbabwe borders South Africa in the south and Zambia in the north, where active Kolping associations have existed for many years. In order to become familiar with the concept of Kolping, 25 delegates from four dioceses met in Manresa, Zimbabwe, to learn about the associational and project work of the Kolping associations. The training was conducted by two experienced African Kolping managing directors, Dancille Mujawamariya from Rwanda and Judith Turner from South Africa.

In small groups, the Kolping aspirants developed the main features of the Kolping Association, the family-like community and discussed how the ideas of the founder of the association, Adolph Kolping, are implemented for the benefit of the community. The participants were enthusiastic about the idea of the worldwide Kolping community and want to found an association in Zimbabwe soon. Other bishops have already shown interest and will be informed in detail about Adolph Kolping and his work in the upcoming months. The seed has been sown! We are happy to have the support of Kolping Rwanda and Kolping South Africa in growing the first tender plants.
