This year, the Kolping Association’s World Day of Prayer was celebrated in a very special way: on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Adolph Kolping’s beatification, the Kolping Path of Reflection was opened in a ceremony in Maków Podhalański (southern Poland).
The path has eight stations (life goal, work, beauty, family, love, dignity, eternity, faith) featuring quotations by Adolph Kolping and John Paul II that invite to reflect and pause. The texts are carved in stone and supplemented by short contemplations.
The route starts at Maków Podhalański railway station and leads through the town centre to the cemetery, where Father Kazimierz Hoła, founder of the first Kolping Family in Poland, is buried. The last station, ‘Faith’, is located right at the entrance to the pilgrimage church of Our Lady of Maków. More than 80 members from 13 Kolping Families from all over Poland attended the opening ceremony, together with Mayor Michał Surmiak and a number of Praesides of the Kolping Association.
Special thanks go to the Kolping Family Maków Podhalański and its President Bożena Wojdyła, who made this Path of Reflection possible through her great commitment. She was awarded the Kolping Association’s Medal of Merit in Poland for her efforts.
