Lent project for East Africa

Touched by the impressions of the meeting of the International Board of Directors in Rwanda and having experienced the effective methods of Kolping in agriculture, Ted Wilke, member of Kolping USA’s National Board, proposed to the Association that during the 2017 Lenten period donations be collected specifically for the Kolping Families in Kenya, who suffer from low agricultural productivity.

Through the purchase of goats and training in the area of organic composting, the Families become more resistant to crop failures and droughts.  More than 13,000 Euro were collected in this first campaign.  During this Lenten season, East Africa was therefore very close to the USA.
