The German Kolping Society has a new president

Since last weekend a woman is at the head of the German Kolping Society for the first time. At the National Convention on November 17-18 in Cologne, the 370 delegates elected Mrs Ursula Groden-Kranich (53) as new president.

The CDU member of parliament from the city of Mainz is a trained bank clerk, married and has a daughter. Her central themes in politics are European and family policy and cultural and media policy. Mrs Ursula Groden-Kranich succeeds Mr Thomas Dörflinger (53) who was bid farewell in al solemn ceremony this weekend after having served the office for 14 years. The former president received the badge of honor of the German Kolping Society for his long-time merits as well as the badge of honor of KOLPING INTERNATIONAL.

The German Kolping Society counts about 230,000 members and is thus the largest National Association within the worldwide network of KOLPING INTERNATIONAL.
