16.09.2016: Rwanda: International Board of Directors

New structures of the association and a sustainable development for everyone

From September 15-18, this year’s International Board of Directors’ Meeting of the Kolping Society is taking place in Rwanda (East Africa).  36 delegates from 26 countries have gathered in the Centre Pastoral Notre Dame de Fatima in Musanze to discuss and drive forward, among other subjects, the Association’s Development Process KOLPING 2017.

A new self-image and new structures are supposed to lead this long-standing Catholic social association to a new and modern future.  The stimuli of this year’s International Board of Directors’ Meeting will make a significant contribution to the last phase of the Association’s Development Process.  That phase will be completed in the frame of the International Convention of the Kolping Society in Peru in 2017.

At the opening of the conference three guests of honor were welcomed by the International Board of Directors: the Governor of the Northern Province of Rwanda, Bosenibamwe Aimé, the Bishop of the Diocese Byumba, Nzakamwita Servilien, as well as the Bishop of the Diocese of Ruhengeri, Monsignore Vicent Harolimana.  In conclusion of the first day of the meeting, a mass was celebrated with everyone in the evening.
