Africa: For the hard work to be finally worthwhile

The small farmers in the villages of East Africa are used to hard work. On their small fields tractors cannot be used, even draft animals are rarely seen so that many farmers have to work their fields arduously with a hack.

What is really frustrating for these people is that in spite of their hard work they only rarely generate no more and no less than what they need to live on. And in the years that are less successful, it is not even enough to feed the family. "Decent work" looks differently.

Therefore the agricultural program of Kolping Tanzania conveys skills on better methods of cultivation and crops that are better suited for cultivation. Furthermore, farmers are supported in the purchase of livestock. Thus you can generate surpluses and an income that will feed their family and enables them to take their fate into their own hands.
