Imagine you have talent, courage and dreams – but no opportunity to live them out. This is the reality for many young people from poor families. They want to learn, build something, make a difference. But without support, their dreams remain only dreams.
Kolping helps to change this – with training programmes that offer prospects, for example in Kampala, Uganda.
Just like Mary: she wanted to become a cook. But her parents couldn’t afford to pay for her training. At Kolping, she only needed a hat, an apron and a knife – and she was ready to start. Three months later, she knows the basics of cooking: from shopping to hygiene. She doesn’t have a diploma yet, but it’s a real start. “Once they have mastered the basics, our students can build on them and confidently follow their own path,” says programme director Boniface Tukwassibwe.
In Uganda, it is customary for young people to pay for their training. At Kolping, things are different: the young people learn so well that they even receive a small salary from companies. This is an important step towards independence and dignity.
Please give young people the chance to get started! 80 euros helps cover everything they need to learn.
350 euros cover the costs of a three-month cooking course that opens doors.
Every donation helps to make dreams come true. Please be part of this new beginning!
