The Kolping Society on the Philippines offers various vocational training courses in Naga City, among them also a welder course. The interest is high since the training is also officially recognized and the apprentices not only receive a Kolping certificate but also a TESDA diploma (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority).
This is why some of them are employed by big companies and then have a permanent position – like Abegail Buena. After having successfully completed her training at Kolping, she got the opportunity of an internship at the company Keppel. The company was that satisfied with her work that it decided to give her a permanent employment contract.
