50 years of Kolping Peace Hike

Fantastic weather, Babylonian language confusion, good mood, prayers and singing turn the four common days into something very special.

50 years of Kolping Peace Hike: In the Jubilee Year the hike returns to its place of departure: 50 years ago the former National Praeses of Switzerland, Josef Eberli, started the contribution to the understanding among peoples after World War II. Back then members from Switzerland, Germany and Luxemburg had been hiking for two days from the Saint of Peace, Brother Klaus, to the Mother of God, the Queen of Peace.

Now, the 280 hikers who are returning to Sarnen from June 15 to 18 are taking the same route. They come from all over Europe: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Luxemburg, Lithuania, Romania and the Czech Republic.

Fantastic weather, Babylonian language confusion, good mood, prayers and singing turn the four common days into something very special. Paul Schwarze from Bochum has been participating for 50 years. The 82 year old says he has participated because the wars have not ended since then.
