Statement made by General Praeses Msgr. Ottmar Dillenburg on the occasion of the World Health Day on April 7:
“Diseases are part of life. However, there are diseases worldwide that are solely attributable to poverty and injustice. Let us not forget: Health is a human right. The current pandemic shows us forcefully that we must turn first to those whose health is most at risk, also internationally. Good health care must not be decided by the market alone.”
Kolping is committed to improving the health of people in many parts of the world. For, people can do voluntary work and care for others only if they do not always have to worry about their own health.
