Germany: Joining forces to support skilled crafts and trades

KOLPING Germany and the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) signed a key issues paper. Both associations are united in their efforts to support the skilled crafts and trades. The German Trade Union Confederation is an umbrella organization for nearly all German trade unions.

Ulrich Vollmer, National Secretary of Kolping Germany and Stefan Körzell, member of the managing board of DGB  confirmed their cooperation in this area at a meeting in June in Cologne by signing a key issues paper on skilled crafts and trades that underlines joint positions such as self-administration of skilled crafts and trades, the tasks of craft guilds, the reintroduction of Master Craftsman’s Diplomas, the participation of women and the integration of refugees. From travelling journeymen to the organization of fair working conditions in skilled crafts and trades today – KOLPING gets involved!
