(Cologne, 9 August, 2023) Our Annual Report 2022 has been published with many facts, figures and moving stories from the worldwide project work of the Kolping Associations.
In 2022, KOLPING INTERNATIONAL Cooperation e.V. supported 170 development projects in 39 countries from Cologne, ranging from vocational training to the promotion of smallholder farmers and small businesses. This was possible thanks to a total of around 10.81 million euros in funding. The income from donations has developed particularly well: ” Whilst public funding has been declining for some time, in 2022 we experienced the best year in the history of our association in terms of willingness to donate,” reports Secretary General Dr. Markus Demele. With donations totaling 5.74 million euros, the previous year’s result was increased by another 22 percent. “Especially in view of the difficult global political and economic situation last year, which also serverly affected many people in this country, this increase is all the more impressive. It also shows the great trust that donors have in our global development cooperation.” A large part of the donations (2.2 million euros) werde made for the Ukraine emergency aid of the Eastern European Kolping Associations. “Here the overwhelming solidarity continued that KOLPING INTERNATIONAL was already able to experience for its worldwide Corona emergency aid. For this and for every single commitment we thank all supporters from the bottom of our hearts”, says Markus Demele.
