Kolping celebrates World Day of Prayer

Today, October 27, the Kolping community celebrates its annual World Day of Prayer with which we commemorate Adolph Kolping‘s beatification in Rome on October 27, 1991.

During these days Kolping Families all over the world remember the founder of our association and pray together for his canonization. The Catholic priest and social reformer from Kerpen founded the journeymen’s association in 1849. It became the nucleus of the International Kolping Society. Today, some 400,000 members in 60 countries work to build a more just world, based on his guiding principle of solidarity. Because we are stronger when we join forces.

For this year’s World Day of Prayer, General Praeses Msgr. Christoph Huber asks all Kolping brothers and Kolping sisters to pray for peace in the world. “We all experience, learn and hear about the plight of war in the world, be it in Myanmar, be it in Ukraine or be it now in the Holy Land. Let us ask God, through the intercession of Blessed Adolph Kolping, to give peace to our hearts, to give peace to our world, to keep us in His Spirit and to strengthen us in the good. This is what I invite you to do and this is what I ask you from the bottom of my heart for this World Day of Prayer.”

The texts for the 2023 World Day of Prayer were prepared by KOLPING Brazil. They are available for download here.
